A large private house built on a landslipped site adjacent to the beach at Seaview. Built on piles the house used Beco Wallform insulated formwork, waffle slabs to achieve the large, column free spans required, curved glulam beams for the roof and a slender steel frame to support the glazing and roof.
As part of the works required to stabilise the site, the sea wall was anchored and a deep drainage scheme installed in the road behind the house as part of the Pier Road Stabilisation Scheme.
Part of the site had restricted access and the site itself was split level. To avoid high mobilisation costs for a second visit, most of the piles were undertaken by a mobile rotary rig and the remainder by shell and auger equipment.
